This article will help you decide on the right junior skis. It is intended for children of ages 6 and above.

You should take the following factors into consideration, when picking the right pair:

* age of your ski junior,
* weight and size of your children,
* how much experience they have on the slopes and
* their activity on the slopes.

1. Intermediate - recreational

As your children spend more time on the slopes, you will see what speed and terrain they are most comfortable with. The average ski junior, with one or two years of experience on mild surfaces, will require recreational soft skis, allowing easy carving. The size of the skis should be around their eye level.

2. Intermediate - advanced

Many children are more hard driving skiers, as well more comfortable with rougher terrain. These kids will need longer skis - all the way up to their forehead. They will also require a specialized, stiffer skis, to absorb shocks from their aggressive style.

3. Taller and heavier

A child that is taller or heavier than the average, does not fall into the junior category! Their bigger weight, makes the soft junior ski unresponsive when turning. The best alternative in this case, is to choose beginner adult skis. These may feel just a little stiffer.

All ski manufacturers have junior skis in their program. Some are more specialized in racing and some in free-riding or powder. Before you decide on the type, you should first determine your ski junior style and then the right length.

You now know the basic necessities for picking the right equipment for an intermediate ski junior.
